Before the technique, the person

I didn't start with the technique. I started with a question: what does someone need to live with their own face again?

The answer took me from the outside in. From the face to the smile, from the smile to the prosthesis, from the prosthesis to the bone, from the bone to the paper, from the paper to the patent.

I learned to operate zygomatic implants the hardest way possible. By getting it wrong. That is why I am afraid of the surgeon who is not afraid.

Whoever walks in here wants a solution, not a surgery. My writing, my teaching and my surgery try to remember that.

What drives me comes before any case: to discover, create and share knowledge in a way that is truthful, didactic and authentic.

I do not own the truth. I write down what went wrong and do it differently on the next case.
